Louis Fuentes
Louis Fuentes is a Cuban-born architect and sculptor based in Miami. His work emerges from the intersection of architecture, material, and nature, exploring sculpture as an extension of space rather than an isolated object.
Trained in architecture at the José Antonio Echeverría School of Architecture in Havana, where he graduated in 2009, Fuentes has built his career in Miami, where he currently serves as Architectural Creative Director at SDH Studio. His architectural practice has shaped a design language rooted in proportion, structure, material, and the relationship between form and its surroundings. Over time, these explorations evolved naturally into sculpture, allowing him to investigate the same ideas at a more intimate and elemental scale.
Through LF Sculptures, Fuentes explores a philosophy he describes as Tropical Zen—a dialogue between precise geometry and organic movement, permanence and lightness, material and void. Natural stone, layered construction, light, shadow, water, and tropical vegetation become part of a language intended to create moments of stillness within the built environment.
Each work is conceived in relationship to its surroundings, seeking a quiet balance between sculpture, architecture, and landscape.
